The Laughlin Riverwalk connects most casino-hotels along about 1.5 miles — you can genuinely walk between the Aquarius, Edgewater, Colorado Belle, Golden Nugget and Pioneer, though the southern properties (Harrah's, Tropicana) are further and warrant the free casino shuttle. Water taxis cross the river to Bullhead City, Arizona (different time zone in winter — Arizona doesn’t observe DST). The Colorado River itself is the main attraction: jet-boat tours to Lake Havasu run 3-4 hours and are the standout half-day activity. Oatman, Arizona (wild burros, old Route 66 ghost town) is 30 minutes.

How does Laughlin compare to Downtown Vegas on price?
Laughlin is usually cheaper — midweek rooms at $45-$65 are routine, versus $90-$130 downtown. Buffet prices are lower and gambling minimums are lower ($5 blackjack still exists). The trade-off is the two-hour drive from Vegas airport.
Is the Colorado River swimmable?
Yes at designated beaches — Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area (5 miles south) has a proper swim beach, and casino properties have private river-access swimming zones. Water is cool because it's released from the bottom of Davis Dam upstream.
